FMH ANNOUNCES NEW EMERGENCY MEDICAL TEAM - 2009-04-23
Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be considered one of the strongest emergency departments in the region once a new group of physicians begin staffing the department on May 1, 2009. Previously, Core Physician Resources have staffed the Fairfield Memorial Hospital Emergency Department until they recently notified the hospital of their intentions not to renew their contract, where at which time Fairfield Memorial Hospital has began recruiting their own physicians. Currently, Fairfield Memorial Hospital is staffing the emergency department with locum tenens physicians until the new group begins in May.
Kathy Bunting, FMH CEO, said, “I am genuinely excited to announce that Fairfield Memorial Hospital has hired physicians to staff our Emergency Department. These physicians are highly skilled, credentialed in emergency medicine, trauma trained, professional, family-oriented, and most notably, board certified.”
Dr. Michelle O’Neill
Michelle O’Neill, MD will serve as the Emergency Medical Director and comes to Fairfield Memorial Hospital with nearly 25 years of trauma experience as an Emergency Physician. She is highly credentialed and is a Diplomate American Board of Emergency Physician, Fellow American College Physicians, and Fellow American Academy of Emergency Medicine. She did her residency in Los Angeles County, at the University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. They have three children, Nicole, Brian, and Katie.
“I am looking forward to working at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in the Emergency Department. As an experienced Emergency Director I know that Emergency Medicine is best practiced by a group of physicians who are vested in the success of that hospital, medical staff, and community. In today’s world many emergency departments are staffed by large emergency medicine corporations which change hospital contracts like a fast game of checkers all based on maximum profit with no regard for quality of medical care. However, Fairfield Memorial Hospital's administration and medical staff are focused on quality and want to offer the community a new group of Emergency Physicians who will be dedicated to local residents. I hope to find a "medical home" in Fairfield,” stated Dr. O’Neill.
Dr. Rodney Beeler
Rodney Beeler, MD has been working in Emergency Medicine since he finished his Family Practice Residency in 2002. He is Board Certified in Family Practice and currently has over 20,500 hours as an Emergency Room Physician. He did his Residency at Deaconess in Family Practice in Evansville. Dr. Beeler currently resides in Evansville with is wife and three children, Tyler, Scott, and Abigail.
“I am excited to be coming to Fairfield where the hospital is committed to its emergency services along with having great community support. I am also energized by the quality of the providers I will be working with,” stated Dr. Beeler.
Dr. Robert Reynolds
Robert Reynolds, MD received his Medical Doctor degree in 1997 and has nearly 15 years of experience in emergency medicine. Dr. Reynolds is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, American Association of Physician Specialist; and Board Certified in Family Practice. His residency was completed at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. He currently resides in Evansville with his wife Julie and three daughters, Hannah, Mary, and Sarah.
“I am looking forward to working at Fairfield Memorial Hospital with Drs. O’Neil and Beeler and with the already strong primary care and specialty physicians. I realize the quality of medicine Fairfield Memorial Hospital and their medical staff offer and am excited to have the opportunity to help extend that quality of care through their Emergency Department,” stated Dr. Reynolds.
