DEBRA JEAN WITHROW SCHOLARSHIP FUND SILENT AUCTION OCTOBER 16TH AT FMH - 2009-10-09

The Fairfield Memorial Hospital Staff will be holding a Silent Auction to raise funds for a scholarship in memory of the late Debra Jean Withrow, an operating room nurse at Fairfield Memorial.  The Silent Auction will be held on Friday, October 16 from 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at FMH. Donations or auction items are being accepted.  Donations can be mailed to Fairfield Memorial Hospital, c/o Kathleen Heltsley, 303 NW 11th Street, Fairfield, IL  62837.  If you wish to donate an item for the auction, please contact Michelle Ward by calling 618-847-8242.  The FMH Staff would like to thank the community for all their support in funding this scholarship.

Several items that will be up for auction include: Living/ Dining Room Mirror, Huge Lined Longaberger basket, antique dishes, plates, water goblets, stainless steel serving dishes, antique sewing rocker, 100+ year old side chair, small aquarium system, electric train, 6-3D puzzles, Brighten jewelry, designer hand bags, wooden hanging basket, two early 1900's picnic baskets, $500 aesthetic laser procedure certificate (can be used for hair removal, spider veins, limelight, and pearl treatments), car detailing coupon, car alignment, tire rotation and balancing, original watercolor painting (Spencer Meagher), Avon chess set, DeeAnne's cheese cakes, other food items, and much, much more!

 

The scholarship is an annual $500 scholarship that is be awarded to a local nursing student enrolled in the Frontier Community College Nursing Program. 

Debra Jean Withrow was a nurse for over 30 years serving several area hospitals including St. Mary’s Hospital, Centralia, Crossroads Community Hospital, Mt. Vernon, and Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  She had specialized experience in obstetrics, emergency room, and the operating room.  Withrow was a huge supporter of local nursing programs.  At the time of her death, she was the reining president of the Southern Illinois Chapter of the Association of Peri-Operative Nurses (AORN).
