On behalf of Illinois Hospital Association (IHA), Katherine Bunting, Fairfield Memorial Hospital CEO and IHA Region 5 President, would like to encourage the local community to check out the Illinois Hospital Association’s new web site, “Protect Illinois Health Care” (www.protectillinoishealthcare.org), which was recently launched to provide education and information regarding current healthcare issues and offering tools and resources to help effect change. This website can also be linked from FMH’s home page (www.fairfieldmemorial.org) by simply clicking here. 

“This web site offers clear, easy-to-understand information to help Illinois citizens, including nearly a quarter of a million hospital employees, partner with Fairfield Memorial Hospital and other Illinois hospitals in urging Governor Quinn and state legislators to protect health care in the state budget,” stated FMH CEO, Katherine Bunting.

“Hospitals are a vital major employer in addition to providing the most important social service of caring for the sick, the injured and the dying. The cost of health care is the cost of saving lives,” says IHA President Maryjane Wurth.

“Protect Illinois Health Care” has four key components:

·        Key Issues—concise explanations of the most important issues facing hospitals today;

·        Resources—easy-to-use tools to find individual legislators, find local media, connect to your local hospital, or find hospital career information:

·        Hospitals and the Community—Highlights specific work done by hospitals in their local communities and their tremendous impact.

·        Latest news and Commentary—Offers the public the opportunity to hear a statewide perspective from IHA’s President and other thought leaders.

Visitors are also encouraged to join an email list for advocacy alerts and other related information.

The Illinois Hospital Association, with offices in Naperville and Springfield, is an advocate for 200 Illinois hospitals and the patients and communities they serve.
