    Minimum Requirements:

    EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

    • Required: High School diploma or equivalent; Current Illinois Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification for Long Term Care; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within three (3) months of hire

    EXPERIENCE

    • Preferred: Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing; Experience with electronic documentation helpful.

    NATURE OF WORK

    The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct, indirect, and restorative care to residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. This role supports residents with activities of daily living, ensures comfort and safety, and maintains a clean environment. The CNA assists with mobility, hygiene, nutrition, vital signs, and documentation, contributing to high-quality care in the Skilled Care Unit.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene.
    • Assist with resident mobility, including ambulation, transfers, turning, and positioning using proper body mechanics and equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
    • Obtain and document vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other observations accurately and promptly.
    • Support restorative and rehabilitative activities, including range-of-motion exercises as directed by therapy staff.
    • Assist with meals by preparing residents, serving trays, feeding as needed, and supporting hydration and nourishment programs.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident environment, including linen management and infection control practices.
    • Observe and report changes in resident condition, behavior, or skin integrity to nursing staff.
    • Participate in resident admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring comfort, dignity, and accurate documentation.
