EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate. Good written and oral communication skills are a must.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in a hospital environment or as an EMT preferred.
SKILLS:
Confidentiality in preserving medical information about individual patients is required. Promotion of good public relations with patients, visitors, and physicians.

NATURE OF WORK:
This position provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The incumbent works in a fast-paced environment and will provide for a variety of patient care procedures. In addition, the Technician will be responsible for room preparation and cleaning as well as stocking and dispensing supplies.
The Emergency Department Technician will also assist with securing beds at a higher level of care facilities, as well as with finding transportation. The Technician would be someone who could be trained to complete registration and to put discharge charts together, benefiting both the Business Office and Medical Records. Sign patients into the system and push their electronic chart to the track board at the nurse's station.
