QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Registered Nurse in State of Illinois or Licensed Practical Nurse in State of Illinois
Experience: Experience with electronic medical record charting, phlebotomy, and medical terminology needed.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, patient workup, and keyboarding. Excellent customer service, organization
skills, an understanding of care in the clinic setting, and ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
Additional: Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required. Office experience preferred.
NATURE OF WORK:
The office clinical float completes assessment of patients for healthcare providers, assist
providers with office procedures, and carries out provider orders. Additionally, the office clinical
float is key in extracting medical information and documenting such in the patient electronic
health record to be used by provider for decision-making. The office clinical float enters patient’s
health history and history of presenting illnesses at each visit with updates to medications,
allergies, and family history. The clinical float assists patients with exit instructions, as needed,
such as test procedures, providing patient education or instructions. The office clinical float
completes specimen collections by venipuncture for lab diagnostic testing. As a team, the office
clinical float maintains medical supplies in exam rooms and completes other duties as assign for
efficient clinic workflow.
