EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Previous medical billing and follow-up experience preferred. Experience with multi-line phone system, general office equipment, computer software programs including word processing, internet usage, and email required.
SKILLS:
Team player willing to assist in meeting organizational goals. Excellent keyboarding, communication skills and customer-oriented approach to others. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required.
ADDITIONAL:
Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required. Self-motivated in setting goals for receivables and streamlining processes.

NATURE OF WORK:
Perform billing process for statements. Trouble-shoot computer billing issues and correct billing or posting errors timely. Handle billing phone calls and collection follow-up. Complete balancing. Prepare reports for balancing, collection follow-up and auditing. Handle credit balances in compliance with CMS and insurance guidelines. Make phone calls, submit letters or forms of appeal to payers on outstanding claims. Handle collection process with patients, insurance and referring collection agency.
