    Minimum Requirements:

    EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

    • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
    • Preferred: Certification in CPR, First Aid, and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)

     

    EXPERIENCE

    • Preferred: Experience in clerical, administrative, or healthcare support role preferred; Experience in behavioral health, particularly with geriatric populations, strongly preferred

    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of basic human behavior and patient interaction techniques
    • Proficiency with office systems, electronic records, and data entry
    • Customer service mindset with a compassionate approach to patient care

    NATURE OF WORK
    The Senior Life Solutions Unit Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Geropsychiatric Program’s multidisciplinary team. This role manages patient documentation, coordinates communication, supports daily unit operations, and assists with patient transportation. The position plays a key role in ensuring efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and a positive experience for patients and families.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform clerical and administrative duties for the Senior Life Solutions program
    • Maintain patient charts, records, and documentation in compliance with hospital policies
    • Process admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient demographic updates
    • Enter charges and assist with billing processes
    • Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
    • Answer and manage telephone communications using professional etiquette
    • Maintain unit supplies and complete requisitions as needed
    • Prepare reports, census data, and daily unit documentation
    • Coordinate and assist with patient transportation to and from the facility
    • Assist patients entering and exiting vehicles in accordance with safety and fall prevention protocols
    • Support patient experience by assisting with meals, menus, and general requests
