• Required: Associate’s degree. Current Registered Nurse License in Illinois.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree

• Proficiency in physical assessment, venipuncture, IV medication administration, wound care, pain management, and foley catheter insertion.
• Must manage heavy workloads
• Monitoring patients before and after surgical procedures is crucial.

• Strong clinical assessment, technical proficiency, and time management skills.
• Collaborate with nursing assistants and supporting team members to maintain safe, efficient care.

NATURE OF WORK
Provides professional nursing care within our Medical Surgical Unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.  Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients.  Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies.  Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.  Strives to improve team effectiveness, system processes and patient outcomes across the continuum of care.
