EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- A baccalaureate degree in Human Resources or a related field required, master’s degree preferred. Human Resources leadership required.
- Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
- Experience leading through change and building culture.

- Extensive knowledge of state (IL) and federal employment-related laws
- Ability to handle multiple issues and projects in a matrix team approach, requiring significant consultation and collaboration with colleagues.

NATURE OF WORK:
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for planning, organizing and carrying out all activities of and day to day functions of the Human Resources Department, such as maintenance of personnel records, policy and benefit administration, and implementation and monitoring of annual evaluation program.
- Encompasses all benefits for both salaried and hourly employees and providing consulting to directors in compensation and employee relations issues.
- Involves frequent contact with hospital staff and a working knowledge of the benefits, policies and procedures, and keeping abreast of changes in employment laws.
- Serves as member of the FMH Management Team.
- Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures and re-evaluates policies and benefit plans for cost effectiveness as needed.
- Assists Department Directors in management of their staff members with regard to employee relations, onboarding, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.
