NATURE OF WORK
Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, provides skilled physical therapy to patients from pediatric to geriatric. A qualified candidate must possess acute orthopedic inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation experience and be able to treat across multiple facets from home health, skilled/long term care, acute care and out-patient. The candidate must utilize effective and professional communication skills and thorough documentation and be able to work in a fast-paced setting. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on strong critical thinking is a must to provide optimal patient centered care.
Key Responsibilities
· Administer therapeutic exercises, massage, and modality treatments (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot/cold packs, etc.)
· Provide traction therapy for neck and back pain
· Instruct and assist patients with functional activities (mobility, transfers, daily living skills)
· Document patient progress and report findings to the Physical Therapist
· Fit and train patients in the use of braces, prostheses, and supportive devices
· Collaborate with therapy staff and other healthcare team members to coordinate care
· Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards
· Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and teamwork in all interactions
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
· Required: Associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited institution
· Required: Current Illinois Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) licensure
**This position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, paid in two installments: $2,500 at the time of hire and $2,500 after one year of employment.**
EXPERIENCE:
· Preferred: Orthopedic Experience Preferred
SKILLS
Strong customer relations experience required. Team player willing to assist in meeting organizational goals. Excellent communication skills and customer-oriented approach to others. High level of professionalism and confidentiality, in compliance with HIPAA standards. Exemplary critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills required; ability to work independently as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
