EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: High School Diploma
- Required: Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED
- Required: CPI Certification
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Two or more years of prior experience in security, military, or law enforcement. Healthcare security experience

- Strong situational awareness and ability to stay alert
- Clear communication and respectful customer service
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation (CPI techniques)
- Emergency response knowledge (fire drills, evacuations, disaster protocols)
- Physical readiness for walking, standing, and responding quickly

NATURE OF WORK:
The Security Guard performs a variety of duties in and around the hospital facility to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors, and property. This role is a vital member of our collaborative team, helping to maintain a secure environment while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor alarm systems, video cameras, and control access to the facility.
- Observe for signs of crime or disorder; investigate suspicious activities or disturbances.
- Conduct security patrols and personnel/vehicle inspections.
- Perform nightly lockdowns and emergency lockdown procedures when warranted.
- Manage lost and found property and controlled property procedures.
- Utilize CPI techniques to de-escalate situations and respond to emergencies.
- Report incidents promptly and complete required documentation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures, fire drills, evacuations, and disaster protocols.
- Provide a safe environment by identifying and addressing unsafe conditions.
- Interact respectfully and courteously with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Report violence involving staff, patients, or visitors to appropriate leadership.
- Maintain facility equipment and security tools in proper working order.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development.
- Uphold confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
- Exhibit professionalism in dress, hygiene, and conduct.
- Monitor multiple screens and situations simultaneously.
- Respond quickly to unpredictable emergency situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
