The laboratory is a The Joint Commission accredited, CLIA-certified, and high complex facility offering a wide range of services.

FMH Laboratory offers:

  • Complete menu of cardiac testing
  • BNP determination
  • In-house thyroid testing
  • Therapeutic drug testing
  • Microbiology
  • Transfusion services
  • Standard testing capacities

The laboratory utilizes state-of-the-art analyzers and automated equipment, kept at optimal operating efficiencies through an extensive quality-control program. Staffed by professional, licensed technicians, technologists, and phlebotomists; the laboratory provides an excellent level of diagnostic care for its clients, physicians, and the community.

Special Lab Testing Rates

Each year, Fairfield Memorial Hospital offers Reduced Cost Lab Testing in early May and again in October or November. The following lab test rates are offered during this special. Testing can be done from 7 – 10 a.m. at the hospital lab, 7 - 9 a.m. at the Edwards County Health Department in Albion, and 8:30 - 10 a.m. in the FMH Medical Arts Complex. If you are interested, go directly to the laboratory office at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, Horizon Healthcare or the Edwards County Health Department in Albion. You should not have food or drink after midnight. Payment is due at the time of service. Results of the test will be mailed directly to your home.   • Glucose (Blood Sugar) $10
  • Hemoglobin A1c (Diabetic Monitor). $20
  • Lipid Panel (Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL, LDL, and VLDL) $20
  • PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen). $20
  • Thyroid Function Panel (T4, T3 Uptake, Free T3, Free T4, TSH). $35
  • General Health Profile (Includes CBC, Lipid Screen, and a 12 test chemistry profile) $35
  • Vitamin D Test $35

Laboratory Services are available 24/7 in the hospital; Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in the FMH Medical Arts Complex, and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at the Edwards County Health Department in Albion, IL.
