NATURE OF WORK: Ultrasound Technologist selects equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination. Review each patient requisition for examination ordered and clinical diagnosis checked to verify accuracy of charges. Explain process to patient and instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for examination. Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field, and other specifications of test. Records pertinent test data and patient information into computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of test results. Performs ultrasound exam per protocols developed by FMH Radiology Department. Prepares exam for interpretation by a qualified physician.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Licenses, Certificates, and Registrations: Graduate of approved school of Ultrasound Technology. RDMS, RVT, or RDCS preferred or eligible to take the exams to obtain these credentials.

Experience: 1-2 years Diagnostic medical Sonography experience and/or training

Skills: Team player willing to assist in meeting organizational goals. Having the initiative, independent judgment, and the ability to organize and direct work flow. Good communication skills required.
