FMH Diagnostic Imaging Director, Mendie Johnson, Completes Prestigious ICAHN Rural Health Fellowship
Fairfield Memorial Hospital proudly celebrates Mendie Johnson, MBA, BS, RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RT (R), Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services, on her successful completion of the ICAHN Rural Health Fellowship—a prestigious six-month leadership program for emerging healthcare leaders across Illinois.
Through this highly selective program, Mendie deepened her expertise in operations, finance, advocacy, and leadership, all while focusing on the unique challenges and strengths of rural healthcare.
As part of the Fellowship, Mendie completed a powerful project titled: Digital Sharing of Images – Improving Patient Access to Diagnostic Imaging.
Using the Vertex Share platform, Mendie led efforts to improve how patients, providers, staff, and partner facilities access imaging—making care faster, more efficient, and more connected than ever before.
- Patients now have quick and easy access to prior imaging
- Providers can access imaging results more efficiently
- Staff can securely share and retrieve images with ease
- Referring facilities have immediate access to transferred records
- POAs can review imaging remotely when needed
Mendie was chosen to present her project at the 2025 ICAHN Expo in Champaigne, IL, representing Fairfield Memorial Hospital and advancing the future of rural healthcare.
