In its ongoing efforts to better improve the lives of those we serve, Fairfield Memorial Hospital recently donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Wayne County Senior Citizens Center in Fairfield, Illinois. This donation will help ensure the health and safety of those who utilize this facility.

The Wayne County Senior Center serves as a multi-purpose center that serves meals on-site as well as scheduled meals for home delivery. Also, these centers provide a wide range of social services.  Some of these services include nutrition education, transportation, light housekeeping, recreation, education, grandparents raising grandchildren information, caregiver information and much more!

An AED is used to help those experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest. Having an AED on-site, as well as, trained individuals who can use the device helps increase a person’s chance of survival in the event of a medical emergency.

“We are so grateful to this community and all that it does to give back to our Seniors. The Wayne County Senior Citizen Center worked hard to bring back a senior center to our community and we couldn’t be more proud of this achievement. We hope this AED brings a sense of safety to those visiting the Wayne County Senior Center.” commented Interim CEO/Chief Operating Officer Dana Taylor.
