Clinic Information Technology Analyst 2 - Full Time

Status: Full Time; Non-Exempt

Monday-Friday; Day Shift; Occasional night/weekends for hardware/software updates, 1 week on-call every 3 weeks

NATURE OF WORK: The Clinic IT Analyst provides end-user support and troubleshooting for Clinic personnel.  This person is responsible for assisting with day-to-day maintenance of the NextGen EHR, network hardware, e-mail, and other applications.  The person will work with Clinical staff on EHR issues. This person will work with the Information Technology Director on the implementation of new technologies.  This person will also play a role in coordinating installations and upgrade initiatives. This would include assisting the Information Technology Director in facilitating activities such as upgrading systems with the latest versions of software, the rollout of new hardware and training.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  AS Degree required.  Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years technical experience preferred

Skills:  In-depth technical and administrative understanding of the following:

  • Able to respond in timely fashion to end-user needs and concerns relating to Electronic Health Records systems (NextGen, Medhost, etc.) and general systems issues (Office, Windows, e-mail, printing, etc.).
  • Apply strong clinical application knowledge and IT technical skills to the analysis, design, development, integration, configuration, implementation, maintenance and support primarily of NextGen and other applications.
  • Understanding of EHR interfaces and HL7 standards for communications between EHR systems.
  • Understanding of SQL queries and use of Crystal Reports for use in reporting.
  • Work with Microsoft Active Directory to manage users and computers.
  • Troubleshoot and solve internet connections, desktop computers, software, copiers and other technologies.
  • Set up new computers, install and configure hardware and software as needed.
  • Recommend and implement best practices to improve efficiency or security of resources.
  • The IT Analyst will orient technical resources providing vendors with all information needed to assist in supporting end-users.
  • Work with the Department as first line support for all software including NextGen, Medhost, Office, Windows OS, and email.
  • Work with the Department as first line support for all hardware including PC’s, servers, monitors, printers.
  • Identifies diagnosis, and resolves technical problems, problem escalation and solution tracking.
  • Day to day maintenance of network servers (backups, administration, hardware maintenance).
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills as an IS professional to train, instruct and educate groups and individuals in a team environment.
  • Works with Information Technology Director and others in designing technical systems and architecture.
  • Identifies and resolves clinical system issues.
  • Recommends, schedules and performs system improvements and upgrades.
  • Understanding of Networking Protocols
