Behavioral Health/Counseling Services
The Outpatient Behavioral Health Therapy program focuses on providing counseling services to individuals, couples and families, including children, teens, and adults. Those dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, family conflict, medical illness, and behavioral difficulties will benefit from the program, as well as those with a more severe mental health diagnosis. A variety of interventions and coping skills will be provided, based upon individual treatment planning and agreed upon by the patient and the healthcare team.
Hospital Horizon Healthcare expanded its Behavioral Health Counseling Services in 2019 with the addition of Jeff Wood, LCSW, Behavioral Health Therapist, as the newest provider at Horizon Healthcare. Jeff Wood, LCSW, has been providing clinical services to adolescents, adults and families since obtaining his clinical licensure in 1999. A native of Southern Illinois, Jeff is a graduate of Carmi High School, and he attended Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis, where he obtained his Bachelor of General Studies and a Master of Social Work degrees from Indiana University.
In order to meet the growing needs of our patients, Fairfield Memorial Hospital Horizon Healthcare expanded its Behavioral Health Counseling Services with the addition of Michaela Harrison, LCPC, Behavioral Health Counselor, as the newest provider at Horizon Healthcare in 2020. Michaela Harrison, LCPC, is originally from McLeansboro,IL. Michaela attended SIU Edwardsville and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and then went on to further her education at Lindenwood University and graduated with a Masters of Professional Counseling. Michaela comes to Horizon Healthcare with experience working as an Outpatient Therapist in Effingham, IL and Mt. Vernon, IL.
Alexis Hamilton, LCSW, joins Fairfield Memorial Hospital Horizon Healthcare November of 2020. Alexis is originally from Mt. Vernon, IL. Alexis attended the University of Southern Indiana and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. She graduated with a Master’s of Social Work from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Some of Alexis’s Certifications and Training include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychological First Aid, and more. She also serves as a Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Volunteer.
