Coding Specialist - Health Information - Full Time

STATUS: Non- Exempt; Full Time Days

NATURE OF WORK: 

The Coding Specialist uses ICD-10, ICD-10 PCS, and CPT coding rules to complete coding for all services provided at Fairfield Memorial Hospital and Horizon Healthcare. 

The Coding Specialist will primarily assign codes for ancillary accounts, but may also assign codes to in-patient, outpatient surgical, observation, emergency department, and skilled care unit accounts, and Horizon / Specialty Clinic accounts at Department Manager discretion. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• AHIMA or AAPC Certified or required to become certified within 2 years of employment
• Preferred one to two years of experience
