Medical Lab Assistant - Full Time

Nature of Work: The Medical Laboratory Assistant performs pre-analytical processes according to established procedures and assists with the analytical procedures for patient testing under the supervision of a certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.  This job may encompass the disciplines of Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Immunohematology, Microbiology, Serology, and Urinalysis.  Additionally, the Medical Laboratory Assistant performs supportive tasks to ensure that the laboratory provides excellent customer service, is well-stocked and maintained in a neat and orderly condition.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or a GED is required
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field is preferred but not required
• At least 1 year of related experience working in a medical laboratory environment is preferred
• Meet all requirements for certification as a Medical or Clinical Laboratory Assistant within 6 months of hire. Obtain certification within 1 year of hire.
